Fossil Find!

The Hidden History of the Railroads of Illinois

The Byron Museum of History will host a FREE program "Crossroads of the Nation: The Hidden History of the Railroads of Illinois". Simon Cordery, railroad historian and historical advisor to the National Railroad Hall of Fame, will give a fascinating look at the expansion of the railroad industry in the Land of Lincoln. His talk will demonstrate how the Prairie State fits into the pattern of national railroad development while exploring the national political significance of the history of railroads in Illinois. Old Fashioned Summer Night

Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival

Day Before Pioneer Days, August 28, has the local merchants displaying sales on the sidewalks in front of the stores.
