The
Village of New Lenox is the premier community located
along the Lincoln Highway. Lincoln Highway provided the
initial transportation and business corridor for local merchants
in
the early 1900’s in the Village. In recent years New
Lenox has
evolved into an emerging suburban community with balanced
growth trends.
Numerous sites of interest exist in New Lenox. The Old
Methodist Church Campground Site and Log Cabin are located
along U.S. Route 30 as well as the Schmul School (one room
schoolhouse relocation) project. An original Lincoln Highway
Marker is located at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
From blue ribbon and gold medal schools to state championships
athletic teams, New Lenox remains "The Home of Proud
Americans."
