Description

Located just 30 minutes southwest of Chicago's Loop, Matteson (pronounced Matt-e-sun) was founded in 1855, Named in honor of Illinois' ninth governor, Joel Aldrich Matteson, the communitiy began as an agricultural trade center, and gradually grew into a major retail center and principal market for commercial, office and hotel development.
