Founded in 1855 and incorporated in 1879, Frankfort's rich heritage continues to be evident throughout the Village. Located approximately 35 miles southwest of Chicago in Will County, Frankfort has progressed from a German farm community into a premier suburban neighborhood that has maintained its historic charm. Visitor and recreational amenities include the Old Plank Road Trail, Breidert Green and Prairie Park, all conveniently located in the downtown district.
